The U.S. House of Representatives rejected a proposal to defund the National Security Agency. The NSA has been the subject of much controversy as of late concerning personal privacy of American citizens.
The vote came down to 204 votes for (94 Republican, 111 Democrat) and 217 against (134 Republican, 83 Democrat). Each party had 6 no votes.
Being a dead-center Libertarian, this is troubling news to me. Our privacy has suffered yet another blow to make way for more security concerns. This vote marks yet another sad day in my country’s history.
Do you think this vote is the right move for America? Or do you believe, as I do, that this is another great blow to the country? Share your thoughts below in the comments section!
