IGN.com is reporting that CW president Mark Pedowitz has confirmed DC Comics’ Flash hero will be making appearances on their Arrow program. Arrow, is the series based on DC’s Green Arrow.
Pedowitz said that they will be making Dr. Barry Allen a recurring character on the show in which they plan on building an origin story to the Flash alter ego. The Allen character will be making its debut on the program this fall.
Might there be a spinoff show? Perhaps. By the sounds of all of this, CW is still testing the waters. If they like how Allen develops on the show or if, say, the episodes that feature him garnish great ratings, then it would almost be a certainty.
With the news from Comic Con that Warner Bros. is looking to release a movie based on the Flash character, the natural question becomes: Will there be a continuity between the television show and the film.
And to quote Pedowitz directly:
We don’t know yet.
So. There you have it.
