This here? This is obviously taken from a place when I didn’t know how to do “radio shows/podcasts/things.” It was WAY back then. But here. I’ll give you the written version of something I truly worked “hard” on. Something that bothered me for many-a day. And all that. Possibly.
You see, at the time, the “Drunken Radio Network” thing was still in its infancy. Sure, the argument could very easily be made that it is still in its infancy currently. But I’d like to think that the shows I do have progressed beyond what transpired on Dec. 22, 2013. But hell, who knows, right?
What transpired on Dec. 22, 2013 was an episode of Nightcap. A late night, Sunday show that I had been doing throughout much of that year. Basically, Nightcap was, essentially, my own version of Last Week Tonight. For the most part.
But. On December 22. It ’twas the Nightcap before Christmas.
And here is the written poem that was later read on that night.
‘Twas the Ngihtcap before Christmas:
‘Twas the Nightcap before Christmas and all through your house,
The host of Drunken Radio spewed words from his mouth.
Beer, liquor, wine had been consumed without care,
A hangover looming, tomorrow it’d be there.
The host restless, can’t wait to go to bed,
But first, this show, the last things to be said.
Only one more drink, still not from a tap,
The host prepared for his final nightcap.
Politics, movies, Batman, the usual chatter,
But for another night, these were not the matter.
Suddenly it was heard in a flash!
The thunderous roar of a great crash!
The host’s last drink spawned him such a fumble,
That from his host’s chair he took a great tumble!
The show, it did end, for the host was no more,
As visions of boobs drove him straight to the floor.
But I heard him proclaim, as he fell out of sight,
“Merry Christmas, you guys. And, uh, have a great night.”
I have no idea why you’d want to do such a thing. But. If you wish, here is the full episode of “‘Twas the Nightcap Before Christmas” in case you’d like to take a listen to it in its entirety.
